Join ESN Zürich for a Scientific Day Trip to CERN!

Have you ever wondered what happens at the world’s largest particle physics laboratory? Now’s your chance to find out! Join us for a unique excursion to CERN in Geneva, home of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the most powerful particle accelerator ever built and home to some of the most important discoveries in modern physics.

Discover where some of the most fascinating experiments in modern science are conducted, and get an exclusive look behind the scenes of cutting-edge research in physics and a tour of the beautiful city of Geneva for a price you won't find anywhere else!

An outline of our day:

• Departure: We’ll meet bright and early at Zürich HB under the big angel in the main hall at 7:45 to begin our journey to Geneva. The train ride is over three hours long, so plenty of time to catch up on sleep.

• Geneva City Tour: In the midday, we’ll explore the beautiful city of Geneva with a guided walk through its historic center and lakeside views.

• Lunch Break: After the tour, we’ll enjoy lunch together (food options will be available nearby or you can bring your own).

• CERN Guided Tour: Our tour begins around 14:00, giving you the chance to learn directly from experts about the research being conducted, the history of CERN, and its groundbreaking technology. The tour lasts approximatelx two to three hours.

• Return: We'll head back to Zürich in the evening, arriving at Zürich HB by approximately 21:00.

Due to the conditions of the train ticket we have limited spots for people over 25 years old. Please bear with us if we had to cancel your registration, we will refund you in that case. If you have a GA, the trip is free for you. Just send a seperate e-mail to the organizers within 24h after signing up.

The price includes the train ride and the guided tour. There is no discount for Halbtax or GA Night.

CERN requires date of birth, nationality and place of birth details of the participants.

Cancellations for this trip later than 3 weeks before the trip are not possible. Please only sign up if you are sure that you can come.
