Have you ever wanted to climb a vertical rock face using iron steps, steel cables, and hanging bridges? Then it’s time to face the Via Ferrata Diavolo (“Devil’s Climb”) – a spectacular alpine adventure carved into the granite walls above the iconic Schöllenen Gorge near Andermatt.

The Diavolo Via Ferrata starts just a short walk from Andermatt and takes you directly into the towering granite cliffs.This via ferrata is as thrilling as it is beautiful, taking you above rushing mountain rivers, along sheer cliffs, and through a high alpine environment that feels straight out of a movie. It’s secured all the way, but still requires courage, concentration, and stamina!

Don’t worry, we’ll take plenty of breaks for photos, snacks, and to enjoy the view !

Route info: 

Via Ferrata Diavolo – Official Info

• Difficulty: K2–K3 (easy to moderate, ok for beginners)

• Estimated Duration: 3–4 hours including breaks

Schedule: 

• Meeting point: 09:45 at Zurich main train station

• Expected return to Zurich: around 21:00

What to bring: 

• Sturdy shoes (hiking or approach shoes, no sneakers allowed) - Climbing shoes are not required

• Weather-appropriate clothing (layers recommended + windbreaker)

• Gloves !!! The steel cables are going to be very cold

• Packed lunch and snacks

• Water (at least 1.5 L)

• If you have: via ferrata gloves, helmet etc. 

The fee includes train transport, rental of via ferrata gear (Helmet, harness, via ferrata certified lanyard) and a full day of adventure!

• If you are 25 years old or above: We can only arrange day travel ticket for a limited number of people on a first come first serve. We will inform you accordingly if you are eligible in terms of quota. If we reach the quota and if there are more registrations by people who are 25 or above, the following rule applies: In this case, if you don't have a GA or won't be able to buy your "Day travel ticket" yourself, you are not eligible to join, in accordance with SBB group travel discount rules

• ESNcards will be checked on the day of the event. If you register with the ESNcard option, please ensure your card is valid.
