Looking for the Swissest experience you can imagine? Then join us for a chill day full of mountains, cows, cheese, music, and tradition at the Älplerfest in Lenk im Simmental! This alpine festival is one of the highlights of the year in the Bernese Oberland, and you’ll get to see it all: decorated cows parading through the village, local food to taste, traditional music, and even the election of Miss Lenk… the most beautiful cow of the year!

Program of the day:

• 06:45 -- Meeting point under the big blue angel at Zürich HB

• 07:00 -- Departure by train to Lenk (Lenk is not that close!)

• 10:00 -- Arrival to the festival

• Morning -- Cheese making, cattle parades, local markets and produce

• Afternoon -- Cheer for your favorite cow in the Miss Lenk contest, traditional music

• 16:35 -- Departure to Zurich, with arrival at 19:35

Notes:

• Bring some cash (or TWINT) if you want to buy food or local products (not everyone will accept card at the market - having some cash is recommended, especially if you don't have TWINT)
• Festival badge: the entry to the festival is free, but there is a voluntary contribution of 5 CHF if you want to take part in the Miss Lenk voting, the raffle, and to sustain the festival. This is not included in the ESN event price.
