Our journey begins at the iconic Bettmerhorn, a vantage point offering panoramic views of the magnificent Aletsch Glacier and surrounding peaks. As we set off on our circular route, we'll be immersed in the pristine alpine beauty of the region.

Märjelensee Beauty: Our trail leads us to the shimmering Märjelensee, a tranquil mountain lake that reflects the surrounding majesty. Pause here to absorb the serene ambiance and capture stunning photographs of this natural gem.

Enchanting Bettmeralp: The trail continues to Bettmeralp, a charming alpine village that captures the essence of Swiss mountain living. As we explore the village, we'll experience its unique charm and perhaps savor some local treats.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy hiking shoes
• Comfortable clothing in layers
• Rain gear (the alpine weather is unpredictable)
• Food for lunch (There won't really be time to buy anything before the hike starts)
• Water (we recommend at least 2l)
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
• Camera to capture the breathtaking scenery

Important Notes:

• This hike is of moderate difficulty, suitable for participants with a moderate level of fitness and hiking experience.
• There will be a hut on the way where you can buy warm drinks and food. We recommend to bring you own lunch though
• Part of the hike is a 500m long dark tunnel that we have to walk through. Make sure to bring a torch or your phone

Itinerary (subject to changes):

     6:40   Meet at Zürich HB in the big hall under the blue giant angel

     7:02   Take the train to Brig from platform 31 (usually we have to walk to the very end of the train)

     10:30  Arrive in Bettmerhorn, start the hike

     13:00  Lunch break

     17:30  Finish hike at Bettmeralb, take the train back to Zürich HB

     21:30 Arrive in Zürich HB

The itinerary is not fixed. If the weather conditions change to the worse we might pick a different hike at lower altitude. We could also add a stop in Bern on the way back if everyone agrees.

Otherwise you will be barred from events for the next two weeks, and removed from any events you were registered for during that period. Thank you!

There is no Halbtax/Half fare discount. There is no GA night/Seven25 discount. The price covers the train ride and the cablecar ticket.

There is only limited capacity for students that are older than 24 years. Depending on your position in the registration list you might have to pay extra ( ~ +35 CHF). We will notify you in that case.
