Important pieces of Information:

- Have a valid ID/passport and visa/residence permit to cross the border to Germany and back to Switzerland. The residence permit alone does not entitle one to cross the border. Even German citizens should have their residence permit with them when reentering Switzerland.

- Be aware of the custom fees and checks on goods brought over the border.

- Be aware of German roaming fees.

- The Euro is legal tender in Germany; one rarely can pay in CHF and usually at an unbeneficial exchange rate. Have some euros in cash on you, as card payments at the Christmas market are not always possible.

People with a GA can come for free. Those that have already paid will be refunded roughly a week after the event has taken place.
