Hey hey, exchange students! Are you ready for an unforgettable excursion to the captivating Swiss (de facto) capital: BERN?

Begin the day at 9 am sharp with a guided tour of the Bundeshaus, Switzerland’s federal parliament building, where we’ll delve into the heart of Swiss politics.

Next, we’ll stroll along the picturesque Aare River to the Bärenpark, where you can catch a glimpse of the city’s famous inhabitants: the bears! From there, we will ascend to the Rosengarten for a breathtaking view of Bern’s UNESCO-recognized old town. Back in the historic center, you will have time to explore landmarks like the iconic Zytglogge clock tower and the majestic Berner Münster, Switzerland’s largest late Gothic church.

To cap off the day, we’ll head to Gurten, a local mountain. Take in panoramic views of the valley and, if you’re feeling adventurous, try an adrenaline-pumping toboggan run!

*Important rules for the Bunndeshaus

• Bring your Identification to enter: passport, identity card (from CH and EU states), driving licence (from CH and EU states), Swiss foreign nationals identity card. Visitors and their belongings then undergo security screening by passing through a metal detector.
• Visitors may bring one item of luggage no larger than L 41cm x W 31cm x H 10cm.
• It is not possible to deposit luggage in the Parliament Building (no lockers available). Only folding prams that fit through the revolving door can be brought into the building.
• Liquids are not permitted with the exception of medicines and baby food/special food preparations.
• Wheelchair and wheeled walker users are requested to use the entrance on the Bundesplatz side. Please ring the bell. Visitors arriving late will not be granted access.
• Visitors to the Parliament Building are expected to dress appropriately and behave in a befitting manner.
• Flash photography and filming are not permitted. Mobile phones must be muted.

7:30 Depart from Zurich

9:00 Entry to the Bundeshaus

10:30 Walk to the Aare river, Visit the Bärenpark and Rosengarten

12:00 Back to the center of Bern and see the Münster

12:45 - 13:30 lunch

13:30 Go to Gurten

17:30 Back to Zurich
