Dear Exchangies,
The cold weather is finally leaving us and spring is here! Let's enjoy spring to its fullest by doing a small day trip/"hike" around Zurich.
There's something for everybody: We're starting off at the train station Uetliberg at 11:00 (yes, very early in the morning on a Sunday, but trust us, it's worth it!), where we'll go to Uetliberg and follow the planet trail all the way to Felsenegg (and beyond). For those who've never been to Uetliberg: That's the mountain with the triangular antenna you see from Polyterrasse. The view over Zurich could hardly be any better.
Once at Felsenegg, we're going to continue the path to the close-by village of Langnau (estimated arrival ~14:00), which has an awesome wildlife park Langenberg. There are many different animals in the park such as red foxes, deer, otters, bears, marmots, and many more – we're definitely going to spot some of them! To round off our trip, we plan on taking the boat back from Rüschlikon (where we're going to walk to from the park) back to Zurich and hopefully enjoy one of the many magnificent spring/summer sunsets of Zurich.BE AWARE that although this day trip is awesome and really cool, we're going to walk around 15km and roughly 700m–800m of altitude, meaning we're expecting you to be able to walk this much at a normal pace.
