Private Kunsthaus Tour:

Come with us and visit Switzerland's largest art museum for a private guided tour around the new Niki de Saint Phalle exhibition.

Niki de Saint Phalle (1930–2002) was a French-American artist best known for her large-scale, colourful, pop-art-style "Nana" sculptures. You might have seen one of them before, especially as one of them is decorating Zurich HB (the big, blue angel under the ceiling)! Besides being one of the few female monumental sculptors, she was a painter, filmmaker, and author of hand-illustrated books. She had a difficult and traumatic childhood and a disrupted education, which the exhibition will also touch upon.

Do you want to learn more about the artist Niki de Saint Phalle, her background, and her works? This private guided tour will be the ideal opportunity. One of the art educators at Kunsthaus will explain the background of some selected works in detail and explore their various meanings.

We will meet in front of the Kunsthaus (Heimplatz) at 10:00. The tour will start at 10:15. We look forward to seeing you there!

After the guided tour, you have the opportunity to explore the rest of Kunsthaus for yourself. It is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the world of the Old Masters, discover Swiss artists, or admire Impressionist or contemporary art. The Kunsthaus presents famous names such as MunchPicassovan Gogh, and Chagall. In addition, it features key works from the late 20th and 21st century, for example, by Warhol (the guy with the tomato soup cans). Also, the new Chipperfield building (opened in 2021) is a highlight for architecture fans with its light-flooded, modern design.
