Dear exchange students!

1414 is a numerical order every Swiss person knows. It is the phone number of the Swiss Air Rescue Guard (Rega), which was established in 1952.

With its 14 helicopter bases all around Switzerland, Rega can reach every location within 15 minutes time. The helicopters enable rescue missions in pathless and steep areas and Rega ambulance jets also fly people from abroad back to Switzerland in case of emergency, f.ex. severe injuries. In 2021, Rega flew over 18'000 missions. The headquarters of Rega is based at Zurich Airport. That's the place we are going to visit! On our guided tour, we are going to see the hangar, the ambulance jets and the Operations center among other things.

We're going to meet at Zurich main station (at the meeting point in the main hall) at 9.45am.

The guided tour at the Rega centre is going to be free of charge, but please buy your own train/bus ticket from Zurich HB to "Kloten, Zum Wilden Mann" and back to Zurich again.
The guided tour takes around two houres and starts at 11am. So, we should make it back to Zurich until 2pm.

Kloten, Zum Wilden Mann-> Zurich HB (2.29pm - 2.55pm)
