The Engadin is a long high Alpine valley region in the eastern Swiss Alps in the canton of Graubünden in southeasternmost Switzerland. We will spend a weekend there and discover the region with two days of easy hiking.

Program:

Saturday:

Morning (around 7-8 am): Train ride to Chur. There we take the "Rhaetian Railway” to St. Moritz. This train ride offers some magnificent views. The second half of it (from Thusis on) is even a Unesco world heritage!

After we arrive in St. Moritz, we will hike in the area. The area around St. Moritz has many things to offer: High mountains, beautiful lakes, and nice forests. The trees in Engadin have a special “golden” color in the fall.

The hikes we take will depend on the snow line and on the weather on the respective day.

Accommodation:

We will stay in the Youth Hostel in St. Moritz in 4-bed bedrooms with shared bathrooms.

Sunday:

We will take another hike adapted to the current weather.

In the later afternoon, we will take the train back to Zürich and will arrive there in the evening.

We can book the hostel only after the end of the registration period. If the hostel is booked out, we might go to a similar youth hostel in Scoul (also in Engadin) or the event will be canceled (in which case you will get a full refund). You will be informed the day after the registration has closed.

It is possible that there is bad weather during this weekend. If the weather is bad, we will still go. Cancellation is not possible!
