One of your first Swiss vocabulary might have been "Velo". Even though this is the French word for "bike", the Swiss use it instead of the German "Fahrrad" - stange people :D

At this event, the Swiss bike association ProVelo takes us on a 2h guided bike tour through the city jungle of Zürich.

They will teach you all you need to survive on your Velo in Zürich, from traffic jams, trams, and busses to complicated crossings and how to read the street signs.

After the course, we can head for a picknick or small tour on our Velos on our own.

Requisites: You need to know how to ride a bike. No experience in Zürich needed.

Material: You need to bring a bike yourself. Also, please bring a helmet! This is required by ProVelo (although it is not mandatory according to the traffic rules).

How to get a bike?

- Option 1: You have one, lend it from someone, or get one at a bike fair ("Velobörse", check the calendar on the ProVelo Homepage).

- Option 2: You reserve one for free at ZüriRollt. The number of bikes is limited and you can reserve only one day in advance.

- Option 3: You text us to join a group reservation at ZüriRollt. This way, you get a bike for sure, but it will cost you CHF 10 that you pay at the event.

Remark: In case of many ppl on the waiting list, we might be able to increase the number of participates.

The fee does not include bike rental.
