What is ESN Zürich?
The ESN (Erasmus Student Network) is active at more than two hundred European Universities. Their job is to show foreign students what you can do in there countries beside school. Since 1994, a section of esn exists in Zürich. We help incoming students to get along here, find mentors for them and organize all kind of trips and parties.

Can I participate in the events of ESN Zürich?
Yes! Anyone can participate! However the esn-card (and the discounts it offers) is only for exchange students at ETH, UZH, ZHdK or PHZH, so you might have to pay the slightly higher price.

How can I find out about the next events?
There is a program - available at our office - where you can find everything about the activities in this semester. You will find there a short description of all the events, the adress of the coordinator, the costs and much more...

How do I apply for an event?
First of all, you should subscribe to our e-mail list. It' s the only way to get all the information about the events. You can subscribe right here. Enter your e-mail address and press "Subscribe". Follow then the instructions on the screen.

To join one of our events, you have to register online for the corresponding event. If the event is for free, you get a confirmation e-mail immediately. If the event requires the payment of a registration fee, you have 3 days to pay the whole amount.

How do I pay for an event?
After your registration you will find all information about the payment in the email that you receive!
You have three options to pay for an event:

• Online via PayPal
  You can pay directly online by using PayPal. You don't need to create a PayPal account if you just wanna pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). To pay via PayPal you have to use the link provided in the email with your registration.
• VSETH Office
  You can pay daily either at the main office (Haupt-Sekretariat) of the VSETH in ETH Zentrum building CAB or on the Hönggerberg. Please check their website for opening hours and where their located. You'll receive a receipt there, keep it as confirmation of your payment!
• ESN Office @ CAB
  Our office is open once a week and you can not only pay their, but get help and information about your stay in Zürich and our events. You'll receive a receipt there, keep it as confirmation of your payment!

If we don't receive the whole participation fee on time we have to delete you from the list so that other students that are on the waiting list can have the place!
You can check the status of your registration on the registration list which is available online and with the link that you receive by e-mail.
You will be definitely registered as soon as we get the money and if we get it on time.
Please pay attention that there is a deadline for enrolment and that some events have a limited capacity. If an event is already full, your registration is added to a waiting list.

What happens if I have to cancel my participation in an event shortly before the event takes place?
If for some reasons you can't participate in an event you are definitively registered for, you have to find someone else on your own who will participate instead of you. Otherwise you won't get all your money back because reservations can't be undone, group discounts aren't valid anymore and you cause a lot of additional work for the coordinators. How much money you get back will be decided by the event coordinator as the case arises. Of course, if you have found somebody else you will get all the money back.
If there are people on the waiting list for the event you can ask the event coordinator for their email adresses to contact them.

Why are the prices so low?
We are subsidized by the ETH and the University of Zürich. So it's possible for us to decrease the prices for the events to make them within your means. Of course, some events still are expensive, but don't forget - that's Switzerland...and you might not get another chance to do the same for such a low price.

Close to the ETH main building. In the CAB building of the ETH, Universitätsstrasse 6.
