Liebe Austauschstudenten, liebe ESN-Freunde, auch dieses Semester fahren wir wieder mit euch ins Tessin, den südlichsten Teil der italienischen Schweiz! Zur Reiseroute gehören die Städte Lugano, Bellinzona und Locarno. Los geht's am Freitagmorgen, den 28. Oktober 2011 mit Treffpunkt am Hauptbahnhof in Zürich. Die Übernachtungen sind von Freitag auf Samstag in Lugano und die weitere Nacht werden wir in Bellinzona verbringen. Auf dem Programm steht eine Wanderung auf den San Salvatore und die Talabfahrt mit der Zahnradbahn. Dann werden wir Lugano unsicher machen! Mit dem Boot schippern wir am nächsten Tag über den Luganersee um dann die Schweiz im Kleinformat zu entdecken (Swissminiatur in Melide (http://www.swissminiatur.ch)). In Bellinzona werden wir das Schloss Montebello, das Castelgrande und die Altstadt besichtigen. Am Verzasca-Staudamm, der berühmten Schlucht aus dem Film "James Bond 007 -Goldeneye", wo sich Abenteuerlustige am Gummiseil in die Tiefe stürzen, habt auch ihr die Möglichkeit - Bungee jumping für Interessierte! Desweiteren ist eine Wanderung durch das Verzasca-Tal nach Tenero geplant, von wo aus wir dann nach Locarno fahren werden, um diese Stadt ebenfalls noch kennen zu lernen. Die Rückkehr in Zürich, am Sonntag, den 30. Oktober 2011, ist für ca. 21 Uhr vorgesehen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear exchange students, dear friends of ESN, As every year, we are taking you on our epic adventure trip to Ticino, the southernmost canton of Switzerland! We will visit the cities of Lugano, Bellinzona and Locarno. The journey starts at Zurich's central station on Friday morning, the 28th October 2011. We spend the first night in Lugano and sleep in Bellinzona on the second. The itinerary includes a hike up to Monte San Salvatore followed by a descent on a cog railway down to the neighbouring valley. Afterwards we will explore Lugano. A boat takes us across the Lake Lugano to Melide where we are able to explore a miniature version of Switzerland (http://www.swissminiatur.ch). In Bellinzona itself, we will visit the beautiful castles Montebello, Castelgrande; and the historic city centre. At the Verzasca dam, you will have the chance to re-enact the opening scene of James Bond's GoldenEye - there is bungee jumping for the adrenaline junkies amongst us! A walk through the Verzasca valley will take us to Tenero, from where we set out to our final highlight of the trip, Locarno. The return to Zurich is scheduled for 9pm (21:00) on Sunday, the 30th October 2011.
