| Description | Sechseläuten-Frühlingsfest
Jedes Jahr wird der "Böög" (ein grosser Schneemann als Symbol des Winters) verbrannt. Beim Läuten der Sechs-Uhr-Glocke (daher der Name) zünden die Zünfte der Stadt den Scheiterhaufen an und umrunden das Feuer mit ihren gallopierenden Pferden und wehenden Fahnen. Alle warten gespannt darauf, wie lange es dauert, bis die Knallkörper im Böög explodieren werden. Je länger der Böög dem Feuer standhält, desto schlechter wird der Sommer werden. HOFFEN WIR ALSO DAS BESTE... Danach werden wir auf diesem riesigen Scheiterhaufen grillieren und die Abendstimmung geniessen! Vergesst also Würste und Getränke nicht! Enjoy "Sechseläuten" - where Zurich fights the winter! when the bells call 6pm the "Böög", a huge snowman (symbolizing the winter) will be burnt. At that time the guilts of Zurich will ride their horses around the fire and everybody is excited about how long it will take the fire to burn the Böög. For if it takes long, the winter is strong and the summer will be a bad one. SO LET US HOPE THE BEST FOR 2007... Afterwards we will have a BBQ on the embers of the fire which killed the winter and enjoy the first night of the warm season!!! | ||||
